Global Entrepreneurship Week 2018

During one week each November, thousands of events and competitions in 170 countries inspire millions to engage in entrepreneurial activity while connecting them to potential collaborators, mentors and investors. LMU is proud to be a participant. Below is a schedule of events for Global Entrepreneurship Week hosted by the LMU Fred Kiesner Center for Entrepreneurship. We hope you can join us! Design & Innovation with Snap Hardware
7 - 9 p.m.
Hilton 300

LMU and Snap are partnering on a workshop to bring an idea to market. Members of Snap Hardware will teach LMU students how to work with different disciplines (engineering, product design, graphic design, business, marketing, sales, etc.) This unique opportunity is limited to 60 students with priority given to Entrepreneurship, Graphic Design and Computer Science juniors and seniors.

LMU SuitUp Competition
10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Hilton 300

LMU is partnering with New York-based non-profit SuitUp to organize a business plan competition for local high school students. We are looking for volunteers to mentor and coach these students and help them solve real problems for a well known brand. Volunteers will coach students on their business cases, and help them present their solutions to a panel of judges.

Secret Sauce Startup Career Workshop
7:30 - 9 p.m.

Secret Sauce is a career development company committed to building a community of motivated, diverse college students, educating them about how to land a job at a startup, and connecting them with growing local companies making an impact. Co-founders Brendan Uyeshiro and Zac Cherin will lead students through an interactive workshop covering why now is the best time to work at a startup, common startup business models and organization structures, and insights from current startup employees on the projects and responsibilities that characterize many of the different roles that a student may apply for - all while weaving in their story as recent founders of their own company. This event is sponsored by the LMU Entrepreneurship Society.

You're invited to be a part of a movement to shape the future of Silicon Beach for women. POWER stands for Positive Opportunities for Women’s Empowerment and Recognition. Started by LMU entrepreneurship students, POWER fosters the development of women entrepreneurs and leaders through research, mentorship, inspiration and industry partnerships.

Please join us for the 5th annual LMU Startup Weekend on November 16-18 where designers, developers, marketers, engineers and startup enthusiasts share ideas, form teams and launch companies - all within 54 hours! The weekend culminates with final presentations (a.k.a Demo Day) on Sunday evening which is free and open to the public!
