Skylar earned a B.S. in finance from LMU and has deep connections to the university and the community. He is a third-generation resident of Westchester and fourth-generation Angelino. Skylar’s earliest memory of LMU is attending computer classes in the basement of the chapel with his kindergarten class. Skylar started his career at LMU in the Registrar’s Office in 2013 and transitioned to the CBA Advising Center in 2015. He is currently completing his MBA at LMU. Outside of work, Skylar enjoys traveling, food and wine. 

 

Jackie Leung, M.A. '14, MBA '23

Jackie oversees the co-curricular elements of the student experience within CBA. She is the lead for CBA Advantage, works closely with student organization leaders, and focuses on CBA’s student engagement within the college and across campus. Jackie works alongside the director of academic advising to manage the Undergraduate Programs Office within CBA. Her goal is centered on ensuring that students have access to all the resources and opportunities to be successful in their educational journeys. She earned her undergraduate degree in international business from the University of Denver and both her M.A. in urban education and MBA from LMU. Off the bluff, you can find Jackie swimming in the pool or ocean as well as exploring LA’s food scene with her husband and two dogs, Jiko & Honu.

 

 

 

Stephanie Archila, M.A. '20

An LMU alum and first-generation college graduate, Stephanie is delighted to be back on the bluff to support students utilizing a holistic approach. She earned a B.A. in English literature from Cal State, Long Beach, a teaching credential from Cal State, Dominguez Hills, and an M.A. in guidance and counseling from LMU. An avid hiker, Stephanie has visited 25 national parks and recently climbed Mt. Whitney.

 

 

Larissa Flores

Larissa has nearly a decade of academic advising experience and joins LMU from Marymount California University where she served as an academic advisor and student success counselor. Larissa earned a B.A. in psychology from Marymount California University and an M.S. in counseling psychology from Mount Saint Mary's University. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, camping, and spending time with family and friends.

 

 

Suzanne Calderon, MBA '96

Suzanne is a native of Southern California and grew up in Westchester. She earned her undergraduate degree from USC and her MBA from LMU. She started working in LMU's Office of the Registrar and then moved to CBA where she currently serves undeclared business majors and transfer students. In her spare time, Suzanne enjoys vacationing with her husband and two daughters, beach walks and cooking with family.

 

 

John Rodriguez

John earned an associate's degree in business administration from Wayne Community College and completed a Paralegal Certificate from LMU. John manages student records for the CBA Advising Center and enjoys guiding students in their educational endeavors. John was raised military and served in the USAF. He is an amateur photographer who writes poems and prayers and has biked over 12,000 miles along the beach.

 

 

Amalia Calvillo
Academic and Student Engagement Advisor

In her role as academic and student engagement advisor, Amalia advises undergraduate students while working closely with CBA Advantage and other student engagement initiatives. Amalia most recently served as administrative coordinator for the Undergraduate Programs and Student Engagement Office, where she provided support and direction to students and oversaw office operations. Born and raised in Southern California, she earned her bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Redlands. During her free time, you can catch Amalia reading, exploring the city, or tending to her ever-growing forest of plants.
