Dayle M. Smith, Ph.D., is dean of the College of Business Administration at Loyola Marymount University (LMU), where she leads strategy, operations, and fundraising for one of Los Angeles’s most mission‑driven business schools. Under her leadership, the college has significantly expanded its graduate portfolio, growing from three to nine graduate programs, including innovative degrees in business analytics, entrepreneurship and sustainable innovation, entertainment leadership, and a Doctor of Business Administration. Dayle also led LMU to become a signatory to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME), reinforcing the college’s global commitment to ethical leadership and societal impact.
In recognition of her influence, AACSB - the world’s leading accreditor of business schools - appointed Dayle to its North America Advisory Council, where she contributes to shaping the future of business education across the region. She was also honored with the AACSB Patricia M. Flynn Distinguished Woman Leader in Business Education Award (2025). A six‑time honoree on the LA Business Journal’s LA500: Most Influential People in Los Angeles, Dayle plays an active leadership role across the region, serving on the World Trade Center Los Angeles Advisory Board, the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation Board of Governors, and the Board of Trustees of the Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative (GRLI). She is also Chair‑Elect of Beta Gamma Sigma, the international business honor society.
Dayle is a Fulbright Scholar, prolific author, and former founder, bringing deep expertise at the intersection of leadership, innovation, and global business education.
