What is something that you found valuable about your CBA Advantage experience?
First, let me say there are many aspects of the program that have proven valuable to me. The most consistent benefit is that it provides a pathway and introduction to new concepts and programs which help open my mind to new elements of the business world. I’ve had my interests piqued in new and unique opportunities, and the program has provided solid resources for guidance and development. Another plus is the program has helped me get me out of my comfort zone and motivated me to get more involved in campus activities.
What advice do you have for students as they complete their CBA Advantage requirements?
At first, the program may seem overwhelming, but don't stress out. Go into this with an open mind and remember these events are designed to help you. Seek knowledge and embrace what you learn. Try to have at least one takeaway from each event. Be mindful of what you’ve learned, and develop that insight so you keep improving and moving forward in all areas of your life.
What was your favorite activity related to CBA Advantage?
The Real Estate Certificate Program sessions have been my favorite. They certainly helped me focus and ultimately inspired me to earn my California Real Estate License this past fall. Learning from alumni in the industry was amazing! I was able to gain knowledge and insight from successful industry professionals who also studied here at LMU.
What activity in CBA Advantage would you recommend for students?
I recommend all students attend the Business Incubator Showcase. As an entrepreneur myself, it was exciting to see fellow students develop and establish their businesses and present them in front of faculty, alumni and peers. That inspiring and contagious passion from my fellow colleagues was unforgettable. Now, I can't wait to experience the incubator class next year.
