Please READ THE INSTRUCTIONS before downloading the 2026 executive summary template below.
All executive summaries will be posted online for the judges to view. To maintain consistency, use the template at the bottom of the page and do not make changes to the margins, font type, font size, or spacing. If you want to paste text in from another document, select the formatted text on the template that you want to replace and paste your text as plain text to keep the proper formatting.
In your executive summary, you are asked to identify:
- Your team ID # (upper right-hand corner)
- The name of your team's fictitious company.
- The names and information of your team members and advisor (if applicable)
- Your topic title (please limit to 10 words or less)
- The audience whom the judges should imagine themselves to be (the company's board of directors, etc.)
- The number and complete title of the Sustainable Development Goal(s) affected. Choose no more than 2.
- To reference the complete title, go to the SDG Platform and hover over the goals. For example, SDG #1 "No Poverty" should read "SDG #1 - End poverty in all its forms everywhere."
- Please reference past executive summaries and the SDG Resources page for more information.
You should give a 1-2 paragraph summary of your argument that includes your recommendation. Your executive summary should be (1) one page. If you plan to paste in text from another document, you must "paste as plain text" so that the template's format will not be overridden.
Send your completed executive summary AS A WORD DOC (.docx) to ibes@lmu.edu.
Executive summaries that go over one page will be sent back to be rewritten.
