Naomi JianCang Alvarado is currently studying Statistics and Data Science at Seaver College of Science and Engineering, Loyola Marymount University (LMU) Los Angeles, California. Concurrent with her studies, she holds a position in LMU’s Finance Division and the Institute for Business Ethics and Sustainability. Through her engagement on campus, she has student-facilitated events through the College of Business’s Ethics and Sustainability Series on topics relating to AI and supply chain. Through various roles under LMU’s College of Business, she has supported the B.S. in Information Systems and Business Analytics program, M.S. in Business Analytics program, and the Annual International Business Ethics and Sustainability Case Competition.
Naomi has a strong research background. Having been on faculty-led research projects across disciplines and departments, she understands how to bring her quantitative skills to various academic environments.
In recognition of her leadership, Naomi has been awarded the Arrupe Scholarship Award.
Named for Fr. Pedro Arrupe, the long time Superior General of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits) whose vision of Educating Men and Women for Others has become the hallmark of Jesuit education. She is also a standing member of LMU’s Service and Action House, whose strategic themes of academic excellence, faith & reason, education of the whole person, community, and service to others are fundamental to the 500-year-old tradition of excellence in transformative education that the Jesuits and Loyola Marymount University have always upheld.
