Professor Emily Jarvis, Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry 

Professor Emily Jarvis received her doctorate in theoretical chemical physics from UCLA.  Her research interests include theoretical investigation of materials and molecules related to green energy technologies, high performance computing and machine learning, Green chemistry and wine chemistry. She is passionate about sustainability and how technology can support that and teaches Developments in Clean Technology in the LMU MSESI program. She served as a science policy advisor in the U.S. Senate and worked as a National Research Council Postdoctoral Fellow at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in addition to her academic appointments. In her free time, she enjoys a variety of outdoor activities including ocean swimming, running and biking as well as reading, art, and spending time with her family.
