Yongsun Paik
Yongsun Paik is a professor of international business and management at Loyola Marymount University. He is director of the Center for Asian Business and the Center for International Business Education. Paik holds a Ph.D. in international business from the University of Washington and a master's degree in Latin American studies from the University of Texas at Austin. He served as country economist at the Export-Import Bank of Korea between 1979 and 1984 after graduating from Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea in 1978.
Paik was awarded a Fulbright grant for his appointment at Yonsei University in Korea during spring 2005. He is also the recipient of the LMU Faculty Award for Excellence in Scholarship and Creative Works and the Most Outstanding Faculty Person Award from Delta Sigma Pi. Paik's primary research interests focus on international human resource management, global strategic alliances and Asian Pacific business studies.
Paik has published three books including "Global Business: Connecting Theory to Reality," "Managing a Global Workforce: Challenges and Opportunities in International Human Resource Management," and "Changing Face of Korean Management" as well as over 60 articles in major international business and management journals. His articles have appeared in the Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of World Business, Academy of Management Executive, Academy of Management Learning and Education, Journal of Business Ethics, Management International Review, Journal of International Management, Business Horizons, International Journal of Human Resource Management, Human Resource Management Journal, Journal of Management Inquiry among others. Dr. Paik is the former president of the Association of Korean Management Scholars (AKMS) and is on the editorial board for the Journal of World Business, Thunderbird International Business Review, and International Studies of Management and Organization.
