Deloitte Foundation Accounting Scholars Program

The College of Business Administration and Department of Accounting are proud to collaborate with the Deloitte Foundation to provide financial support to selected students for full-tuition scholarships toward LMU graduate accounting programs.

There is great demand in the accounting profession for accounting talent. This scholarship program endeavors to strengthen the pipeline of diverse talent entering the CPA profession. Students selected for this scholarship will have 100% of their tuition and fees (not including textbooks and living expenses) paid for by the Deloitte Foundation and LMU.

Selection/Eligibility Criteria

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States.
  • Pursuing an undergraduate baccalaureate degree in accounting from an accredited program. (Note: Undergraduate finance or other business majors, or undergraduate economics or other business-related majors with an accounting minor would also be eligible if they are able to complete the Master of Accounting program by August 2026.)
  • Strong academic track record; minimum of 3.0 GPA (on 4.0 scale).
  • Must have the ability to reside in the United States and the intention to pursue career opportunities in the United States after graduating from LMU.
  • Have an interest in pursuing a career in public accounting and obtaining their CPA, but not presently a CPA.
  • Selected participants must matriculate to the M.S. in Accounting or M.S. in Taxation during the 2025-2026 academic school year (August 2025 through August 2026) and complete such program by August 2026.
  • LMU shall endeavor to consider a diverse slate of students who meet the eligibility criteria above including students who are from historically underrepresented communities or first-generation college students, students who have demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and/or who have faced or appreciate challenges faced by members of demographic groups that are disproportionately underrepresented in the field of public accountancy in comparison to the general population. In evaluating each student’s application, the university shall consider a student’s personal statement, academic work, campus activities, and community service related to diversity, equity, and inclusion issues relevant to the field of public accountancy. The university shall consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, or other status prohibited or disfavored by law.

How to Apply

  1. Submit your M.S. in Accounting or M.S. in Taxation application. This includes uploading unofficial transcripts. It is preferred that your GMAT/GRE test scores are also submitted by the deadline if you are required to submit them according to each program's application requirements.
  2. Submit your Deloitte Foundation Accounting Scholars Program application. You will be prompted to upload a brief essay, no more than 250 words, addressing why you are a good candidate for the scholarship program.

To be considered for the Deloitte Foundation Accounting Scholars program, both your academic program and scholarship applications must be submitted by March 10, 2025.

Students who are selected for these scholarships and accept their offer must enroll in the LMU M.S. in Accounting or M.S. in Taxation starting in the fall semester, August 2025, and graduate from the program no later than August 2026. Scholarship recipients must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher for all semesters and upon graduation.
