International students applying to LMU graduate business programs must meet the following requirements in addition to the program-specific admission requirements.
TOEFL/IELTS/Duolingo Scores
Applicants whose native language is not English and have not completed a high school diploma or postsecondary degree at a university in the United States or other country where English is the primary language must submit a TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo score. Exceptions to this rule may be made for students from countries where English is one of several official languages, as well as at the discretion of the program director.
You must score:
- TOEFL (iBT only):
- For exams taken before January 21, 2026: 100 or above
- For exams taken on or after January 21, 2026: 5 or above
- IELTS: 7.0 or above
- Duolingo English Test: 130 or above
Applicants who are required to submit test scores should use school code 4403.
Transcript Evaluation
Applicants who have completed their postsecondary education from an institution outside the U.S. must hold a degree from a university recognized by the Ministry of Education as a degree granting institution. Transcripts from an international institution must be translated and evaluated by a U.S. transcript evaluation service (e.g. Educational Credential Evaluators, International Education Research Foundation, SpanTran or World Education Services). The purpose of the evaluation is to verify that your postsecondary degree is the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor's degree.
STEM Designations
International students enrolled in STEM-designated programs may be eligible for additional Optional Practical Training. Our M.S. in Accounting, M.S. in Business Analytics and M.S. in Taxation are STEM-designated. Our other graduate business programs are not.
