Center for Asian Business Announces Faculty Research Grant Recipients

Since 2006, the Center for Asian Business has awarded research grants to LMU faculty. This year, grants worth $5,000 were awarded to two tenured track faculty with at least one year of teaching experience at LMU. Consistent with the Center’s mission, these endowed research fellowships were established to deepen our understanding of Asian culture, history, politics, religions, economics and business.

Applications were welcome from LMU faculty interested in Asian topics suggested by the donating families. Although research may address broader Asian topics, topics related to Korea will be given special consideration.

The 2015 Summer Research Grant recipients are:

  • Ivan Montiel Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Management, will receive the Cheon Fellowship for his project: “A Comparative Study of Sustainable Entrepreneurs: South Korean vs. North American Ventures.”
  • Li Dai Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Management, will receive the Moon Fellowship for her project: “Distance, Institutional Voids, and Outward Foreign Direct Investment – A New Approach to Studying Emerging Market Multinationals.”

Congratulations!
