New Faculty to Join CBA in Fall



The College of Business Administration has hired three full-time professors to join the faculty starting in August 2009.

Micah Officer comes to the CBA from the University of Southern California. Officer is best known for his specialty area of mergers and acquisitions and has taught in both Asia and the U.S. on a number of different levels, presented papers at numerous conferences, and published articles in a number of high-profile journals. Officer will teach in the finance department.

Mỹ Bui, who recently received her Ph.D. from the University of Arkansas, will be in the marketing department. Her research is mostly health related and focused on marketing, consumer habits, and consumer health and welfare issues. Bui is currently turning her dissertation into two additional publishable pieces on consumer consumption patterns.

Laurel Franzen, Ph.D., will be joining CBA from the University of Texas at Dallas, where she taught accounting and corporate financial reporting.  She has been published in many notable business and financial journals.  Franzen is a graduate of the University of Washington.

Carol Graham will serve as a visiting professor in the CBA. She has been with the University of San Francisco since 1998 where she has been honored with the School of Business and Management Outstanding Teaching Award four times, the Outstanding Service Award and the Outstanding Research Award. Graham’s primary teaching interests include financial accounting, financial statement analysis, managerial accounting, and financial management. She will teach intermediate accounting at the undergraduate level and financial statement analysis in the MBA program.
