Beginning in the fall of 2013, the College of Business Administration at Loyola Marymount University will introduce a Master of Science in Accounting program. In October 2009, legislation passed in California that set new educational requirements for students who wish to become CPAs. This legislation requires 150 credit hours of education (LMU's B.S. in Accounting requires 126 credit hours), and includes minimum credit hours in business and accounting, as well as specific ethics requirements. The legislation, which becomes effective January 1, 2014, was passed for California to comply with the Uniform Accountancy Act, which makes California's requirement for CPA licensure equivalent to most other states.
Please see MSA Graduate Bulletin for courses offered and full descriptions.
