2009 Winners

MonicaOh

First Place
MONICA OH: Laptop Tray Bag

Monica fashioned a laptop bag that converts into a laptop tray. In the bag position, the item is flat on one side and contains a removable pillow on the other; the laptop sits between the tray and the pillow. Once users arrive at their destination, they simply unzip the bag and fold down the corners. The bag is flipped inside and turns into a tray, complete with a pillow for the lap and a hard, stable surface for computers to rest on.

2008 Winners

David Raskin

First Place
DAVID RASKIN: Interactive TV

A viewer would be able to click on a product seen on TV, and then buy it through the TV. The charge would simply be put on their next cable bill. This would work for almost every product seen in TV or movies.

Andrew Kamar

Second Place
ANDREW KAMAR: Advanced Visual Warning System

My idea is called the Advanced Visual Warning System. Its purpose is to give a heads up warning to commuters that an emergency vehicle is approaching. Light units placed on top of intersection poles will be triggered when an emergency vehicle comes within a certain distance. This can prevent emergency/commuter related accidents and allow for a safer, faster rescue.

Luis Villaneda

Third Place
Luis Villaneda: LaZonaClasificada.com

LaZonaClasificada.com is a Spanish Language classified website created for and by Hispanics. The name LaZonaClasificada.com translates to The Classified Zone. This idea was spawned by the idea that Hispanics are the fastest growing minority in the U.S. and they have not been serviced in the area of online classifieds thus far. LaZonaClasificada.com will fill this vacuum and create a real online community for the Hispanic population in the U.S. and across the Americas.

Best Presentation
Buddy Dillenberg: Diamond Shuttle

This idea will provide environmentally safe shuttle buses on the LMU campus. At regular intervals the two buses will depart from the main campus and transport students to University Hall. This will alleviate the problem of students who have to circle the parking lots for spaces, running late to class etc.
