Diamond in the Rough


Through a wonderful grant from the Coleman Foundation (Fannie May Candies) this award is being created to help identify, encourage, support, mentor, hone, polish and develop young entrepreneurs in their early years so that they fulfill their potential and destiny, and become the outstanding young undergraduate collegiate entrepreneurs.

John Keenan Entrepreneurial Scholars


John Keenan, CLU, is the founder and Chairman of Keenan & Associates, one of the largest insurance brokerage firms in America and the largest in California, with $130,000,000 in revenues. He has over 700 employees in 10 offices, specializing in insurance services for schools, municipalities, and hospitals. The firm is an ESOP, with 45% of the ownership held by his employees. He entered the insurance industry after serving in the Korean War. He is a leader in encouraging and enabling minorities to enter the insurance industry. Mr. Keenan graduated from LMU in 1952.

Ricci Family Entrepreneurial Scholars


Michael and Sheila Ricci have endowed a Scholarship Fund for highly qualified, needy students with an entrepreneurial emphasis. The student applicants can be in the undergraduate or graduate programs. The scholarships are set up to help as many students as possible with the potential of covering up to full tuition.

Student Entrepreneurial Heroes


LMU entrepreneurial students are required to create a business plan for a new venture. The best of these plans are entered in national competitions. Our students have been very successful in these competitions, often getting into the national finals on a competitive basis, and earning a number of top level national awards.
