The Center for Accounting Ethics, Governance, and the Public Interest’s Distinguished Speakers Series most recent event was a visit and presentation by Charles A. Bowsher entitled, “The Banking Crisis, Debt, and Ethics.” Bowsher had a 15-year term as the comptroller general of the United States and head of the General Accounting Office (GAO), a 21-year association with Arthur Andersen & Co., and served as assistant secretary of the Navy for financial management for four years.
